Johnson & Wales improves to 2-0 on the young season and were led by center Ashley Thompson who scored a career high 22 points to go along with 12 rebounds along with Raquel Pederanzi who chipped in 17 points.

The game started off with both teams trading baskets with the Gators leading through the first six minutes of the game until Johnson & Wales finished off the half on a 19-7 run that ignited the Wildcats to an early 10 point half time lead.

The second half was more of a defensive showing for the visiting Wildcats as they held the Gators to 11 points in the third and 15 in the fourth quarter which propelled them to 76-54 victory.

The Lady Gators were led by Erica Jones' 24 points along with 7 rebounds as Alexis Lee added 17 points.

Johnson & Wales will continue their road action as their next stop is a 7 p.m. game at Salve Regina on Thursday.

The Lady Gators drop to 1-2 on the season with their next game Friday as they host Skidmore with tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
