Gators Lose Pair at Curry Tri-Match

Milton, MA- The Gators dropped a pair on Saturday over at Curry College in Milton, MA to the host Colonels and Suffolk Rams.

The Gators jumped out 1-0 on the Rams after winning a back and forth set 25-22. The Rams rebounded in a big way in game two 25-9 and then reversed the set one score by pulling out a pivotal game three 25-22. The Rams would close the Gators out 25-14 in the final game.

Keisha Hadorn had 7 kills and Alexa Leon 5 aces and 17 digs in defeat.

Curry 3, Pine Manor 0

Curry was able to sweep the Gators in three sets (25-22, 25-12, 25-23) behind the consistent play of senior Alyssa Keeney (Coventry, Conn.) and junior Nicole Rice (Woburn, Mass.) who each registered 13 kills on the match.

In a tight first set, the Colonels were able to edge the Gators by three points. Curry gained a 2-0 set advantage with a convincing 25-12 second set victory and the Colonels would close it out in straights with a 25-23 third set win.

Pine Manor was led by Viyanni Johnson, who led the team with 5 kills while Alex Leon contributed a match-high 15 digs.
