Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Pine Manor Women's Basketball team took on crosstown rival Mount Ida College and saw their nine game winning streak snapped as the Lady Mustangs came away with the 93-76 victory. The win lifts the Lady Mustangs record to 6-18 as PMC drops to 11-13 on the season.
Mount Ida was led by four players who scored in double figures headlined by the duo of Angelique Martinez and Breanna Muir. Martinez notched a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds as Muir played an all-around game tallying 21 points 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Trish Liotta netted 18 points as Katlyn Jesse rounded out the scoring with 13 points while pulling down 7 rebounds.
PMC saw five players get in double digit scoring starred by Alexis Lee's game-high 22 points as she picked up 5 assists. Khiyana Isaac shot a solid 7-10 from the floor as she picked up 19 points along with 7 rebounds. Sybil Lynch contributed 13 points and 5 rebounds. Taylor Martin and Erica Jones had 10 points each for the Lady Gators.
The Lady Mustangs shot an impressive 53.1% (34-64) from the field as the host shot 44.9% (31-69). The visitors also shot the three ball with accuracy shooting 52.4% (11-21) as they also held the edge against PMC shooting 67.7% from the charity stripe; the Lady Gators shot just 46.7% from the free throw line.
Mount Ida will end the 2015-16 season on Saturday when they host Suffolk University with tip-off set for 1:00 PM.
Pine Manor will host Fisher Thursday to conclude their season with tip-off slated for 7:00 PM. We will also honor our four seniors Sybil Lynch, Alexis Lee, Khiyana Isaac and Anastasia Walker for their impressive careers.
