LEICESTER, Mass. – Pine Manor opened the game with a 26-3 run en route to a decisive 113-42 victory over Becker on Tuesday night. The 113 points scored by the Gators is the most in school history.

The win sends the Gators record to 2-0, while Becker drops to 0-3.

Sophomore Jayva Johnson (West Haven, Conn.) led all scorers with 19 points and freshman Erica Jones (Atlanta, Ga.) had a game-high nine rebounds. Freshman Cadejia Matthews-Austin (Boston, Mass.) handed out nine assists.

Senior Brooke Martel (Griswold, Conn.) and sophomore Diana Farmer (North Brookfield, Mass) had 16 points each to lead the Hawks. Farmer and junior Gabrielle Gallo (North Port, N.Y.) had eight rebounds apiece to lead the hosts.

Pine Manor scored the first seven points of the game, sparked by a three-pointer by junior captain Alexis Lee (Akron, Ohio), before Becker would get on the board with a layup by Farmer.

After a free throw by Martel made it 9-3, the Gators would score the next 16 points including the first of junior Sybil Lynch's (Hoboken, N.J.) five three-pointers and the first four of senior Natasia Franklin's (Windsor, Conn.) 16 tallies.

Aside from the offensive output, Pine Manor also played well defensively collecting 30 steals as a team and scoring more than half of the points off of turnovers.

The Gators went into halftime up 64-23 and came out of the break firing away. Sophomore Chaniyah Swan (Jersey City, N.J.) led all scorers in the second half shooting five-for-six from the field and registering 12 points. She had a career-high 14 points overall.

The guests outscored the hosts 49-19 in the second half and went on to win 113-42.

The next test for the Hawks is Anna Maria, which they will host on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Pine Manor will return home on Saturday, Nov. 22 to play Fitchburg State at 1 p.m.
