Gators Erupt in 7-0 Shutout of Wheelock College

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Gators of Pine Manor College delivered a 7-0, nonconference loss to the Wheelock College men's soccer team this evening at Winsor Field. 

Raudel Gomez put a pair of goals in the books to get things going for Pine Manor, scoring 3:08 minutes into the game and then again at 15:46. 

Then, Brian Wade got some help from Antonio Garcia to add a third Gators marker to the scoreboard in the 31st minute. 

Nine minutes later, Ellis Woods buried a long ball from the top to close out the first-half scoring and head into the break leading 4-0. 

Over the next 33 minutes and some change, the teams exchanged shots before Woods lifted the score to 5-0 after a helper from teammate Eduardo Lechuga

Jose Corrales contributed to the visitors' success in the 84th minute, scoring in a scramble in front of the net. The seventh and final Pine Manor goal came thanks to Kelvin Chico, after he received a cross from Daniel Bermudez

Wheelock was led by freshman forward Sam Riva (Sheffield, Mass.), who got three shots off, and sophomore keeper Gary Broad (Shelton, Conn.), who came away with 13 saves. 

 

Carlos Lopez (El Paso, Texas) earned the win for PMC, turning aside a total of 7 Wheelock shot attempts. 

Wheelock returns to action on Wednesday, October 26, when they host Regis College at 7:00 p.m. Pine Manor hits the road on October 26 for a 3:30 p.m. contest at Mount Ida.
