Chestnut Hill, MA- The Gators suffered a 4-1 setback at the hands of the Suffolk Rams on Wednesday afternoon.
The Gators actually outshot the Rams on the day 17-12 and had the edge in corners 4-1; but the Rams made the most if their chances.
Alberto Bittan scored twice in the first half to give the Rams a 2-0 lead at the half. Bittan scored in the 4th minute to put Suffolk up 1-0 early, Alex Ypsilantis assisted on the goal.
Bittan would strike again in the 35th minute, this time unassisted as he beat Gators goalie Oscar Estrada.
The Gators regrouped at the half and cut lead in half in the 59th minute when Jahvar Gayle scored in his Gators debut. However, it wouldn't stay 2-1 for long as less than three minutes later Jarrett Davis scored and the Rams had their two goal lead back.
The Rams would go on to win 4-1 and improve to 2-3 on the season. Jon Brodeur made seven saves in the victory.
The Gators have lost two in a row and fall to 1-3 on the year; it doesn't get any easier for Pine Manor as perennial power Amherst College is up next for the Gators. Pine Manor will host the Lord Jeffs this Sunday at 1:00pm.
