Chestnut Hill, MASS. – The Pine Manor Gators hosted the Norwich Cadets that resulted in a 4-0 win by the visitors. The game started off evenly as the Cadets were on the attack most of the opening period until they finally connected on their first goal of the day at the 26:12 coming from Jacob Zimmerman with the assist from Ethan Melia. Without wasting any time the Cadets connected on another goal about eight seconds after their goal on a forty yard kick that was placed in the top right corner by Moab Schiers.
The evenly played first half turned into favorable half for the visiting Cadets before with them taking eleven shots to the Gators two.
The second half started off ass a physical contest for both teams as the Gators were trying to close the gap. At the 50:36 the Gators had a chance to make the game interesting with a penalty kick by Jahvar Gayle but it sailed to high. But at the 84:13 mark the Cadets were on the attack again leading to a goal by Chase Hainey with the assists coming from Jeff Purdy after a deflection off of a Gators player in the box. The Cadets were still on the attack and just like the first two goals of the day the third and fourth goal came within seconds apart as Noah Schiers connected on the goal which lead to the 4-0 win by Norwich
The overall physicality of the game caused 19 fouls combined along with two yellow cards and one red. The score indicates that it was a lopsided battle but it was the complete opposite.
The Norwich Cadets now move to 10-6-1 as they prepare for their next game as they host Emmanuel College on November 1st with kickoff at 1:00 PM.
The Pine Manor Gators now fall to 9-7-1 with their season finale Wednesday, October 28th as they host Mount Ida with kickoff at 3:30 PM.
