CHESTNUT HILL, MASS – The Pine Manor faced a tough opponent in the Daniel Webster Eagles as they fell 3-0 at Hedley field.
In the opening period Daniel Webster connected on its first goal of the day by Ian Hutchinson at the 11:33 mark who received the tough pass from Greg Mashburn. About fourteen minutes later Hutchinson decided he didn't need an assistance and went all the way himself for his second goal of the day pushing the Eagles lead to 2-0 before intermission.
The Gators were outshot in the opening period 13-4 but Oscar Estrada kept the Gators close with 7 saves in the period.
The second half was a defensive showcase as no team netted a goal until Marcos Vieira Filho connected on his only goal of the day at the 82:54 mark with the assist by Matheus Faria. After that goal all of the comeback chances for the gators seemed to fade as the final horned sound.
Cooper Hall finished the game with 7 saves on 7 shot on goals for the Eagles as they improve to 11-3 on the season with their next game October 17th against Maine-Farmington with kickoff at 3:00 PM.
Oscar Estrada finished the game with 11 saves with 14 shot on goals for the Gators. Jacob Curran and Owen Haughton led the team with two shot on goals each. The Gators now drop to 8-5-1 on the season with their next game a rematch that ended 0-0 against Fisher on Sunday October 18th with kickoff at 3:00 PM.
