Chestnut Hill, MASS. – The Gators show their toughness as they fought a battle that lasted until the final horn against University of Maine Presque Isle.
The first half was an offensive show for both teams as they both came out the gates shooting. The Gators scored the first two goals of the game with the first coming from Jacob Curran followed 50 seconds later by Brian "BJ" Wade with the assist from Kelvin Chico.
Down 2-0 it was the Owls turn to strike as Derek Healy connected on his goal as he dribbled through the middle. The Gators didn't let the goal stop their attack as the came back with a responses of their own with Brian "BJ" Wade connecting on his second goal of the day with the joint assist by Shaquille Sailsman & Daniel Alanis. But just before the Gators could get comfortable with their led heading into half Me-Presque Isle's Brandon Danforth connected on a header from a corner kick by Derek Healy who then led Sean Barbosa for the pass to Danforth.
With a 3-2 lead coming out of halftime the Gators knew that their lead wasn't safe especially the way each team's offenses were moving so at the 48:45 mark Shaquille Sailsman connected on his only goal of the day which went on to be the eventual game winner with the assists by Daniel Alanis & Brian "BJ" Wade. After that goal the Owls connected on another goal by Cody Blair with the assist by Sean Barbosa but they just ran out of time.
The Owl's now drop to 1-11 on the season with their next game October 11th at Southern Maine CC with kickoff at 2:00 PM
The Gators now improve to 8-4-1 with their next game October 15th against Daniel Webster with kickoff at 3:30 PM.
