Second Half Surge Lifts Gators Over Wildcats

CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. – Brian "Bj" Wade scored both of his goals in the second half to help the Gators defeat Wheelock in a competitive 2-0 contest.

The first half was a very fast paced game for the Gators as they took twenty-five shot attempts compared to only three by the Wildcats. Jordan Bernard managed to save fifteen shots in the opening period and finished with seventeen for Wheelock.

The Gators didn't let their slow start effect their moral but instead within first forty-five seconds into the second half the Gators finally connected on their first goal with a free kick by Stan Park to Daniel Alanis who then gave a cross pass setting up Wade's goal. At the fifty-five minute mark Wade then got a clear steal then took it himself all the way for his second goal of the day. The Gators remained aggressive and on the attack throughout the entire second half ending the game with forty-two shot attempts. The day was relatively easy for goal keeper Oscar Estrada who finished the game with three saves on three shot on goals

Wheelock now drops to 0-3 on the season with their next game on Wednesday September 30th at Mount Ida College. Kickoff will be at 7:00 p.m.
