LEICESTER, Mass.- Becker College fell to Pine Manor College in men's soccer action Thursday afternoon at Alumni Field, 4-0.
The Gators (3-2-0) jumped out to an early lead just 1:27 into the game when Jose Corrales' (El Paso, Texas) cross deflected and fell to Antonio Garcia (Haverhill, Mass.). Garcia collected the ball in front of the Becker (0-6-0) net and promptly flicked a pass over to Brian Wade (Connelly Springs, N.C.), who ripped a shot into the top of the Hawks net, 1-0.
The Gators added to their lead 2:10 into the second half when Jacob Curran (Loxahatchee, Fla.) intercepted a centering pass, unleashed a laser that never got more than three feet of the ground before pinging the left-side netting of the Hawks goal from 30 yards out, 2-0.
Pine Manor put the game out of reach 1:39 later when Daniel Alanis (Glendale, AZ) served a corner to the front post. Wade got the second touch after an initial deflection, and tipped the ball past Benjamin Cadman (Harvard, Mass.) to make the score 3-0.
After a beautiful give-and go combination with Alanis, Corrales netted the final goal beating the Becker's keeper then finishing at a tight angle to make the final, 4-0.
Oscar Estrada (North Port, Fla.) made five stops to earn his second shutout of the season.
Pine Manor returns to action on Sunday, September 20 when they host Maine Machias at 2:00 p.m.
